Hello. If you’re reading this you’re either a cricket-lover or a cool, supportive friend. Or both.
I’m Jay Dansinghani and I absolutely love this sport.
I consider myself a scholar of the game. Oh and let’s face it: “scholar” is just a nice way of saying “nerd.”
The thing is, I grew up watching cricket in the pre-IPL, pre-HDTV, pre-bootleg streaming era. Many games simply weren’t on TV channels in my area.
Cricinfo’s ball-by-ball commentary was often all I had. Whenever there was a rain delay, I’d pass the time by reading Ask Steven, The Numbers Game by S Rajesh, anything by Harsha Bhogle, and so many more features and columns.
And now I want to do what they did. I want to write truly compelling pieces that make people think, laugh, or just feel something.
The purpose of this website is to write the kind of pieces you would expect to read at the likes of Wisden, The Cricketer, CricBuzz, ESPNCricinfo, and other highly reputable websites and publications.
In fact I’ve already been published in The Cricketer (yay!!) and The Japan Times, the country’s leading English language daily. Check out some of my best work here.
My writing is a work in progress, so I urge you to keep coming back to watch me get better đŸ™‚
I also welcome feedback so don’t hesitate to get in touch if you feel like I’m totally screwing things up. You can say nice things too.
In the meantime, you can follow me on Twitter and Facebook.
Thank you for visiting my website. I hope you like the stuff on here!
